Overview

Responsibilities- Perform professional-level student-services duties in support of student conduct/discipline, student rights/grievances, behavioral intervention, and conflict resolution with independent judgment and initiative.
- Assign cases via the Tell A Giant
- Report It system; research and analyze conduct actions, student grievances, and complaints; work within the Case Management software. - Contribute to an ongoing and complex caseload of student conduct/discipline and related incidents to provide prompt, effective, and equitable remedies.
- Assist in creating weekly RAD agendas, attending meetings, and documenting notes and actions.
- Coordinate policies and procedures related to student rights and responsibilities, including disciplinary procedures, behavioral intervention, grievance resolution, hearings, and appeals.
- Respond to verbal or written inquiries regarding student conduct, rights, grievances, or behavioral concerns; escalate complex issues to the Dean of Student Services; provide high incident reports to senior management.
- Conduct fact-finding for student grievances and misconduct; present findings, prepare reports, and recommend follow-up actions, including restorative justice when appropriate.
- Facilitate informal resolution of grievances and coordinate responses to reports of behavioral concerns.
- Gather, analyze, organize, and compile documentary evidence from multiple sources for fact-finding and administrative processes; maintain confidential case files and logs in the online system; stay current on system functionality.
- Advise and train faculty, staff, and management on policies, procedures, and practices related to student conduct/discipline and grievances.
- Support management in developing and implementing new procedures in response to changes in law or policy; monitor workflow and program effectiveness.
- Present to district management; manage complex projects and analyze data to prepare reports.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Campus Police, Student Health Center, Human Resources, Title IX) and forward discrimination, harassment, or Title IX complaints to the appropriate offices.
- Stay current on laws, regulations, and practices affecting student conduct, rights, and behavioral interventions; participate in training and professional development.
- Design, coordinate, and deliver workshops and trainings for the college community; plan events and coordinate logistics.
- Provide after-hours crisis management and link to community resources as needed.
- Perform related duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related area and
- Three to five years of formal training or leadership experience related to the administrative assignment and
- Demonstrated understanding of diversity and equal opportunity with experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Incumbent must be insurable at the standard rate by the employer’s insurance carrier at all times.
- Indoor work environment; travel between sites.
- Multi-project, fast-paced office environment.
Knowledge of:
- Student conduct and grievances programs, student affairs administration, and related laws and regulations (Title VII, Title IX, Clery Act, ADA, Education Code, and applicable California regulations).
- Crises management and community resource awareness; sensitivity to diverse backgrounds; current trends in student conduct and behavioral interventions.
