Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting activities at our location. This on-site role is well suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can maintain accurate financial records, guide close activities, and deliver meaningful reporting that supports business decisions. The position also partners with operational leaders to strengthen controls, improve processes, and maintain a high standard of financial discipline within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

- Direct daily accounting operations, including oversight of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate journal entries.

- Lead monthly and annual close cycles by coordinating timelines, reviewing transactions, and ensuring financial results are reported on schedule.

- Prepare financial statements and supporting analyses for leadership, highlighting trends, performance drivers, and notable variances.

- Manage fixed asset accounting by monitoring capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and balance sheet accuracy.

- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by compiling financial data, validating assumptions, and assisting with planning updates.

- Evaluate accounting workflows and internal controls, recommending and implementing improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency.

- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, provide financial insight, and align reporting with operational activity.

- Assist with internal and external audit requirements by organizing documentation, answering inquiries, and maintaining compliance with applicable standards.

- Supervise and mentor accounting team members as needed, helping to establish priorities and maintain strong departmental performance. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.

- Demonstrated experience managing general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

- Strong ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and use findings to support sound business decisions.

- Hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset reconciliation.

- Background in a manufacturing or industrial setting; exposure to international operations is preferred.

- Proficiency with accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Knowledge of audit support practices, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements.

- Effective communication, organization, and leadership skills, with the ability to work on-site in Vista, California.
