Do you want challenging work in an organization that makes a difference? Community Interface Services, a nonprofit that serves people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, is currently seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant in our lively Vista office. This administrative role will work closely with our accounting team on billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
The starting pay range is $ per hour, depending on education and experience. There is an opportunity for a $1 increase in your compensation for those who meet agency standards after completing our Career Jumpstart program!

Our mission is to provide quality, individualized, community-based support and training in employment, housing, community living, and other related services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAs an Accounting Assistant, you will help the accounting team to:
- Set up new vendors in our accounting system
- Review and process invoices from vendors
- Print and mail payment checks to vendors
- Compile payment details for ACH payments
- Invoice customers for services
- Update accounting records in Quick Books Online
- Match payment details to invoices
- Research and reconcile unpaid invoices
- Learn a variety of software used to process financial transactions and track payments
- Follow established policies and procedures to conduct a high volume of unique financial transactions accurately and efficiently using professional judgement
- Work on a variety of special projects as needed
- Conduct all business activities in accordance with widely recognized ethical standards; ensure confidentiality is not breached regarding financial, accounting, personnel, participant, and all other propriety information; work to reduce the agency's vulnerability to waste, fraud, and abuse; comply with all safe work practices
- High School Diploma (some college preferred) plus one year of experience in an office-based administrative or accounting role.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook; experience using databases; experience with Quick Books Online is highly preferred.
- Flexibility, openness, and ability to adapt to change.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to process a high volume of financial transactions accurately and effectively.
- Dependable and reliable; able to follow through on commitments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
