Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description

A growing professional services company in Vista is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support its billing and collections functions. This position is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who wants hands-on experience with customer accounts, cash application, billing, and reconciliations.

You'll work with Accounting and Customer Service to help ensure invoices are accurate, payments are posted correctly, and customer questions are resolved quickly.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and distribute customer invoices

+ Enter and post customer payments

+ Review aging reports and identify past-due accounts

+ Contact customers regarding outstanding balances when needed

+ Research billing discrepancies and payment differences

+ Process credits, adjustments, and account updates

+ Reconcile customer accounts

+ Maintain accurate customer records

+ Assist with weekly and monthly AR reporting

+ Support the accounting team with month-end activities

+ Respond to customer questions regarding invoices and account balances

Requirements

+ 1-2 years of AR, billing, collections, bookkeeping, or office experience

+ Strong attention to detail

+ Comfortable communicating with customers by phone and email

+ Basic to intermediate Excel skills

+

Experience with accounting software is preferred

+ Strong organizational and follow-up skills

+ Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate an issue
