Role Description The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Vista, CA. This role is responsible for processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy and coding, and ensuring timely payments in accordance with company policies and payment terms. The specialist will reconcile vendor statements, review and resolve invoice discrepancies, and assist with expense report processing and approvals. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate records in the accounting system, preparing journal entries related to accounts payable, and supporting month-end close activities.

The role also involves collaborating with internal teams and vendors, responding to inquiries, and contributing to continuous improvement of accounts payable procedures.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong accounting and finance skills, including experience with Accounts Payable, Accounting principles, Finance processes, and Journal Entries (Accounting).
  • Candidates should possess solid analytical skills, including the ability to review data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and support problem-solving in financial workflows.
  • Candidates should possess experience managing Expense Reports, including processing, verification of receipts, coding to appropriate accounts, and adherence to company policies.
  • Relevant qualifications include proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, strong Excel and spreadsheet skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience in construction, building products, or a related industry; familiarity with three-way matching; and understanding of general ledger and month-end close processes.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively on-site, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of financial information are required.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience, is preferred.
