AP Specialist

A growing manufacturing company is adding an AP Specialist to its accounting department. This position will have significant interaction with purchasing, receiving, inventory, operations, and vendors, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys the operational side of accounting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with three-way matching, purchase orders, inventory-related invoices, vendor reconciliations, and month-end close.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices for raw materials, supplies, services, and operating expenses
• Perform three-way matching between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Investigate pricing and quantity discrepancies
• Maintain vendor master data
• Prepare and process payment batches
• Reconcile vendor statements
• Monitor outstanding invoices and aging
• Research duplicate payments and unapplied credits
• Coordinate with purchasing and receiving to resolve invoice issues
• Assist with month-end close and AP accruals
• Prepare AP-related reports and reconciliations
• Support annual audit requests
• Assist with 1099 reporting
• Maintain accurate documentation for all AP transactions
• Identify opportunities to streamline invoice processing
