Senior Accountant

A growing manufacturing company is looking for a Senior Accountant to become a key member of its accounting team. This position goes beyond transactional accounting and is designed for someone who is comfortable owning significant portions of the month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting process.

You’ll work closely with accounting leadership and operational teams to understand financial activity, identify variances, and help ensure the company's financial information is accurate and timely.

Key Responsibilities:

Own assigned areas of the monthly close process

Prepare and review journal entries

Perform complex account reconciliations

Maintain and analyze balance sheet accounts

Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

Analyze manufacturing expenses and operational variances

Assist with inventory and cost accounting activities

Review accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other accounting schedules

Investigate unusual fluctuations and transaction discrepancies

Support budgeting and forecasting activities

Prepare financial information for management review

Assist with annual audits and tax-related requests

Maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes

Partner with operations, purchasing, and finance teams

Assist with special projects and accounting initiatives
