Lago Vista ISD seeks a strategic, results-driven leader to serve as Director of Curriculum, Assessment, & Accountability.

Serving approximately 1,880 students across four campuses and a daycare, our district is committed to building a culture of high expectations, measurable growth, and life‑ready graduates. As we work to move from a C‑rating to an A‑rating, we are seeking a leader who can align curriculum, instruction, assessment, accountability, and College, Career & Military Readiness (CCMR) into a coherent, high‑performing system.

This role is both hands‑on and strategic. This position will directly support instructional coaching, SLO alignment, and CCMR initiatives, while simultaneously leading system development and building long‑term capacity.

(This position is for the 2026‑2027 school year with a July 1, 2026 start date - 226 days)

Primary

Purpose:

Provide strategic leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, accountability, and postsecondary readiness systems, ensuring all students graduate prepared for advanced academics, meaningful careers, or military service. Build sustainable structures, support campus leaders, and guide teacher growth to improve student outcomes across all campuses.

The Ideal Candidate :
  • Master’s degree required;
    Texas administrative certification required
  • Minimum of 3 years as a campus principal preferred
  • Experience working in a 3A or 4A school district preferred
  • Demonstrated success improving student achievement and instructional practice
  • Skilled in instructional coaching, data‑driven instruction, and teacher development
  • Deep understanding of Texas accountability systems and CCMR indicators
  • Experience supporting SLO implementation; TIA experience preferred
  • Ability to balance hands‑on work with building long‑term systems and leadership capacity
  • Strategic thinker, relational, and able to influence across all levels of the district
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development and alignment of K–12 curriculum to state standards and district priorities
  • Build systems to ensure rigorous, coherent instruction across all campuses
  • Support principals in strengthening campus‑level instructional practices
Instructional Coaching & Teacher Development
  • Lead and directly support administrators in teacher coaching related to data‑driven instruction
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide actionable feedback to teachers
  • Develop systems for consistent instructional coaching and feedback across campuses
  • Build capacity in campus leaders to sustain instructional growth over time
Assessment & Accountability
  • Design and oversee a comprehensive district assessment system aligned to standards and accountability metrics
  • Lead structured data review cycles with campus leaders
  • Monitor, forecast, and analyze district performance across all accountability domains
College, Career & Military Readiness (CCMR)
  • Lead development and monitoring of a district wide CCMR strategy focused on measurable student outcomes
  • Increase student access to and successful completion of advanced academic coursework including dual credit, OnRamps, etc.
  • Increase the percentage of students earning industry‑based certifications
  • Expand and strengthen Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways aligned to workforce demand
  • Analyze readiness indicators to identify gaps and growth opportunities
  • Develop partnerships and systems that provide students the opportunity to earn postsecondary certificates or associate degrees prior to graduation
  • Strengthen K–12 vertical alignment to prepare students for advanced coursework and postsecondary pathways
  • Monitor and forecast CCMR indicators to ensure continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with secondary leaders and counselors to align master scheduling with readiness goals
Student Growth & SLO Support
  • Provide leadership and guidance for high‑quality Student Learning Objectives (SLOs) aligned to district curriculum and assessment systems
