Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)- Build strong internal pipelines for staff and volunteer leaders, including partnership with the internship program, so that future pastoral hires ideally come from within
- Lead the way in building a thriving volunteer culture across North Coast, where recruiting, developing, and retaining leaders is a strength, not a challenge
- Define and align vision, values, and leadership expectations across campuses
- Equip and empower campus leaders to ensure age‑appropriate disciple‑making is taking place in every environment from children to students to young adults
- Champion the unique role each age group plays in the disciple‑making process in the life of a family
- Define and measure ministry health using the engagement framework, including engagement and retention from one life stage to the next
- Advocate for the combination of data and stories to evaluate and improve effectiveness
- Co‑create simple, scalable systems, tools, and playbooks for campuses by gathering feedback and developing solutions that help ministries be effective and efficient, reducing complexity so campus teams can focus on people.
- Create development through cohorts and collaborative learning environments
- Foster a culture of shared learning, coaching, and leadership multiplication
- Equip parents with tools and resources to lead spiritually at home, cultivating a pro‑family culture across North Coast
- Reinforce that the church partners with parents and does not replace their role in the home
- Be present in student ministry environments one midweek evening each week.
- Regularly visit campuses through weekend services to build relationships, observe ministry, support campus leaders, and strengthen partnerships.
- Healthy and growing relationship with Jesus, with a lifestyle consistent with biblical teaching
- Commitment to North Coast Church vision and values
- Proven galvanizer who leads with influence across multiple teams
- Strategic thinker with strong systems‑level leadership ability
- Skilled developer of leaders and builder of healthy teams
- Collaborative, innovative, and adaptable
- As demonstrated by: minimal politics, minimal confusion, high morale, high productivity, and low turnover.
- Internal leadership pipeline health (% of leadership roles filled internally, internship development, and volunteer leader retention)
- % of students retained and engaged from one ministry stage to the next (children → students → young adults)
- Consistent campus adoption and utilization of the engagement framework and scorecards
- Campus feedback score on the effectiveness and usability of global systems, tools, and resources
- Participation rate of staff and key leaders in cohorts, trainings, and development environments
- Parent engagement with resources and tools designed to support spiritual leadership in the home
