Position Type: Part-time employee, in person
Pay: $20–$40 per hour, based on relevant professional experience
Grade Levels: Kindergarten–8th grade, taught in separate age groups
Class Length: One hour per class

Two back-to-back Monday classes, with additional opportunities based on teacher availability
- STEAM Littles — Grades K–3: Mondays, 12:30–1:30 PM
- STEAM Older Students — Grades 4–8: Mondays, 1:30–2:30 PM
Additional STEAM classes, after-school programs, school-break activities, and summer camp opportunities may be available on other days and times based on the teacher’s availability and Cannettic Energy program needs.

Our STEAM classes combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through exciting experiments, building challenges, creative projects, and real-world problem-solving activities.
We believe students learn best by doing. They should be measuring, mixing, building, testing, creating, laughing, asking questions, and having those wonderful “Wait—it actually worked!” moments.
The ideal teacher loves working with children, develops dynamic lesson plans, and knows how to turn learning into an unforgettable hands-on experience.
About Our STEAM ProgramCannettic Energy’s STEAM program is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, confidence, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Students explore how the world works through age-appropriate activities.
Our lessons are colorful, engaging, educational, and just messy enough to prove real learning happened!
Teaching Two Age GroupsEach lesson must be adjusted for the developmental needs of the students.
STEAM Littles — Grades K–3Younger students need:
- Short, clear, step-by-step instructions
- Strong visual demonstrations
- Extra assistance with measuring, mixing, building, and cleanup
- Safe, simple experiments with exciting and visible results
- Movement, sensory exploration, creativity, and opportunities to make choices
- Encouragement that celebrates curiosity, effort, and participation
Older students should receive:
- Deeper explanations of the scientific or engineering concepts
- Opportunities to form hypotheses and make predictions
- More advanced building and design requirements
- Greater independence and responsibility
- Design-build-test-improve challenges
- Troubleshooting, data collection, reflection, and problem-solving
- Opportunities to collaborate, lead, and explain their results
The two classes may explore the same general concept, but the expectations, vocabulary, level of independence, and project complexity must be appropriately adjusted.
Curriculum and MaterialsThe STEAM Teacher is responsible for developing creative weekly lesson plans and a curriculum outline they are excited to teach.
Cannettic Energy will provide approved project materials after the teacher submits lesson plans and completes supply lists in advance.
Each lesson plan should include:
- The STEAM concept and learning objective
- Age-appropriate plans for both class groups
- A complete materials and ingredient list
- Estimated quantities based on enrollment
- Clear experiment or project instructions
- Setup and cleanup requirements
- Safety considerations
- Food, allergy, electricity, water, outdoor-launch, or special-location needs
- A backup or extension activity when appropriate
- Questions that encourage prediction, observation, and reflection
The teacher must test unfamiliar experiments before introducing them to students. Unapproved materials or potentially hazardous experiments may not be brought to class.
STEAM Teacher Responsibilities- Develop engaging, progressive, and age-appropriate STEAM lesson plans
- Submit curriculum outlines, lesson plans, and material requests by the required deadlines
- Prepare separate learning expectations for the K–3 and 4–8 classes
