The Plumbing Designer serves to focus primarily on the design of building-related projects, including educational campuses, military bases, healthcare facilities, hotels, apartment buildings, retail/commercial spaces, and more using Revit and AutoCAD software.
In this role, you will:
* Design plumbing drawings for various building types
* Develop system design calculations and select equipment for use in buildings including sump pumps, sewage ejectors, water heating systems, water booster stations, etc.
* Preparation of detailed design documents
* Specification writing/editing
* Code compliance research
* Collaborate with various team members for coordinating services with other disciplines
* Site surveys to determine existing conditions
* Provide construction administration support including submittal reviews and RFI responses
You will be a great fit if you have:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing design for various types of facilities
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office software
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (a plus but not required)
* EIT / PE a plus but not required
* Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and experience in a broad spectrum of building types
Skills/abilities:
* Familiarity with local and state codes, accepted standards and design guidelines
* Excellent work ethic and character
* Strong verbal and written communications skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with others but also independently
* Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize obligations to meet deadlines
