Arena Staffing has partnered with a confidential, well-established company in the Greater San Diego area that is hiring a Technical Support Engineer to run day-to-day IT support at its local headquarters.
This is a hands-on, on-site role for someone who enjoys solving real problems for employees, supporting business-critical systems, documenting issues clearly, and coordinating with vendors until tickets are fully resolved.
This is not a remote help desk role. This person will be the in-person face of IT for employees, executives, department leaders, and nearby local sites.

- Title: Technical Support Engineer
- Travel: Occasional local travel, approximately 10-15% as needed
- Reports to: Chief Technology Officer
- Compensation: $105,000-$125,000 base, with potential stretch based on experience
- Pre-employment: Background check and standard pre-employment requirements
- Run day-to-day IT support for the company’s local headquarters
- Support nearby business locations remotely and occasionally in person
- Handle walk-up support, endpoint issues, ticketing, business application support, and escalations
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, access, connectivity, printers, peripherals, and conference-room technology
- Support Windows and macOS users in a mixed-device environment
- Coordinate with managed service providers, vendors, and application support partners
- Keep users, leadership, and outside partners updated until issues are resolved
- Build and maintain documentation, runbooks, escalation paths, user guides, and knowledge base content
- Partner with HR on onboarding, offboarding, device readiness, and access changes
- Support limited after-hours needs for urgent business interruptions or system outages
- Business application support:
This role will also support business-critical systems used across multiple departments.
- Front-end support for internal business applications
- ERP, e-commerce, SaaS, or database-backed application issues
- Order, sync, workflow, configuration, access, or data-related troubleshooting
- Identifying whether an issue is isolated or widespread
- Escalating deeper technical issues with clear screenshots, reproduction steps, priority, and business impact
- Learning low-code/no-code tools and internal workflows using documentation, online resources, and AI tools
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on IT support, desktop support, or IT operations experience
- Experience supporting users in a multi-site environment
- Strong Windows and macOS support experience
- Experience with ticketing systems, endpoint support, remote support, asset tracking, and IT documentation
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, peripherals, printers, conference-room systems, connectivity, and user access issues
- Experience supporting business applications such as ERP, e-commerce, SaaS, or similar platforms
- Experience with cloud productivity tools, SSO, MFA, identity/access provisioning, directory services, DNS, DHCP, group policy, and access control
- Ability to coordinate with MSPs, vendors, application partners, and internal stakeholders through resolution
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users and executives
- Calm, resourceful, organized, curious, and able to manage multiple priorities at once
- Experience in a regulated, audit-driven, manufacturing, operational, or compliance-focused environment
