Building Project Manager

Job Summary

To supervise and coordinate the management of all stages of building projects, including capital improvement projects; to ensure that construction or alteration work is being completed according to approved plans and contract specifications; to assist in administering construction contracts with contractors and subcontractors; to coordinate assigned activities with various divisions, outside agencies, and the general public; to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to senior management.

This position is part of the Project Management team that will lead renovations of various City owned facilities and will expedite the delivery of projects that vary in size and complexity. Projects assigned to this team range from multi-million-dollar projects to more routine capital improvement projects.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: three years of increasingly responsible experience in the construction of complex building projects as a project manager or superintendent AND training equivalent to an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in project management, civil engineering, architecture, or a closely related field.

License or Certificate:
Possession of a valid California driver's license.
