This role requires hybrid work, approximately three days per week in our Vista, CA headquarter location. The base pay for the role is up to $110,000 depending on experience, plus bonus.

SummaryWe are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technically proficient Senior Product Developer to lead the development of innovative, high-quality sock products from development through production. This role requires strong knowledge of textile construction, knitting technologies, expertise in sock engineering, fit/performance testing, and the product development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, and manufacturing partners to ensure timely delivery of our Sock products.
This role will report into the Senior Product Development Manager.
- Lead the product development end-to-end process for Grip and Sport sock collections including Tavi, Toe Sox, and Base
33, from development through to production hand-off, ensuring alignment with design and business objectives. - Translate development requests into production ready technical products considering tech pack requirements including: yarn, knitting construction, jacquard, printing, novelty dyeing and embellishment techniques.
- Preview all prototypes at all stages, checking against Tech Pack to ensure requirements, specs, quality, artwork sizing, and performance features are aligned to product standards/design intent prior to review with Design for development comments and final approval.
- Maintain and update Tech Packs, BOMs, and specifications as needed after all Design reviews.
- Collaborate with China office and manufacturing partners to lead inquiries on sourcing, innovation, testing, troubleshooting, and follow up quality assurance.
- Oversee the entire sample development process, including prototypes, photo samples, salesman samples, and pre-production samples.
- Act as key stakeholder for development informing all cross-functional teams on product development status.
- Development requests to be entered in project management system for all deliverables required from cross functional departments.
- Manage development calendars and track key milestones to ensure on-time product delivery.
- Manage internal sock product testing to ensure performance, quality, and durability standards are met.
- Conduct performance testing fit trials, internal wear testing, compile reports and distribute results internally. Product Developer is also required to be hands on with the product and try on sock products for evaluation.
- Coordinate with China office to maintain up to date product certifications and lab testing reports.
- Update seasonal Factory WIPs and Master Data for hand-off to Ops department.
- Monitor costing and margin targets, negotiating with suppliers to maintain profitability.
- Manage daily communication with overseas manufacturing partners to ensure timely development and production. Bi-weekly calls required as needed with overseas partners and could be after hours.
- Conduct seasonal hand-off to Marketing departments such as Master Data and Photo samples including key features for photography and product descriptions.
- Preview workbooks for product descriptions and accuracy.
- Facilitate trim packaging development and cross functional department sign off for all Sock collections.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Product Management, Fashion Design, Product Development, or a related field such Product Manufacturing, Textiles, Sweaters or Knitting (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in technical product development, preferably experience with socks (grip and sport socks), hosiery, sweaters, or seamless knitwear.
- Strong knowledge of yarn performance properties (ex: moisture-wicking, antimicrobial, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of sock knitting technologies and needle gauges
- Proficient in Adobe Create Suite
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel skills required
- Excellent communication and project management skills
