Manufacturing Technician

Manufacturing Technician I – Leica Biosystems, Vista, CA (on‑site)

• Follow written procedures and perform all steps required to assemble Aperio Digital Pathology scanners and related products, including:
• Electro‑mechanical assembly
• Routing of cable and harness assemblies
• Building of optical sub‑assemblies
• Visual and mechanical inspections of components and assemblies
• Installing software
• Perform basic troubleshooting
• Identify proper focus of optical assemblies while viewing through eyepiece or on computer monitor
• Complete related paperwork

• High School diploma or equivalent, or willingness to accept 2+ years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment in lieu of a diploma
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Docs)
• Ability to learn and understand technical information related to our products
• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25 lb

• 1+ year of assembly experience in an electromechanical production environment, ideally in medical device
• Identifying product and process issues and proposing and communicating improvements

Hourly Range: $22–$24 (range may be modified). The role is eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
