Manufacturing Technician I
The Manufacturing Technician I for Leica Biosystems is responsible for assembling mechanical and optical components. This position is part of the Production Team located in Vista, CA and will be an on‑site role reporting to the Supervisor, Manufacturing. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
Responsibilities- Follow written procedures and perform all steps required to assemble Aperio Digital Pathology scanners and related products. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Electro‑mechanical assembly
- Routing of cable and harness assemblies
- Building of optical sub‑assemblies
- Visual and mechanical inspections of components and assemblies
- Installing software
- Perform basic troubleshooting
- Identify proper focus of optical assemblies viewing through eyepiece or on computer monitor
- Complete related paperwork
- High School diploma or equivalent or willing to accept 2+ years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Docs).
- Ability to learn and understand technical information related to our products.
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25 lb.
- 1+ year’s assembly experience in an electromechanical production environment, ideally in a medical device company.
- Identifying product and process issues and proposing and communicating improvements.
Hourly range: $22 – $24. This is the range we believe is the possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The range may be modified in the future.
