Forming Machine Operator | Vista | 1st & 2nd Shift | $20-$21/hr
This role focuses on operating forming equipment to fabricate detailed parts efficiently and accurately in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will set up and run various machines, inspect parts to strict quality standards, and complete required documentation while following all safety and production procedures. The position requires working both independently and as part of a team to support consistent, high-quality output.

Responsibilities
- Follow all production, safety, and administrative policies to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Review manufacturing plans, engineering data, and setup instructions before starting each job.
- Set up and operate forming equipment and related machines, including hydraulic shears, chop saws, and forklifts.
- Verify machine setups and adjust equipment as needed to maintain proper alignment and performance.
- Inspect first-piece parts using gauges, calipers, mylars, micrometers, and blueprints to confirm conformance to specifications.
- Perform 100% inspection of all parts produced to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.
- Maintain quality standards by identifying non-conforming parts and documenting issues accurately.
- Complete all required documentation, including part counts, labor cards, and non-conformance reports.
- Perform minor machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment in good working condition.
- Tear down setups after jobs are completed and return tools, fixtures, and equipment to their proper locations.
- Move completed parts to the next operation or staging area using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings to support communication and continuous improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and communicate professionally with coworkers and leadership.
- Perform labor-intensive tasks, including heavy lifting, as required by production needs.
Essential Skills
- Proven machine operation experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings, engineering data, and blueprints.
- Proficiency using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and mylars.
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating production machines, including hydraulic shears and chop saws.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely in a manufacturing setting.
- Basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance skills for production equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing 100% inspection on parts.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Capability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-volume industrial manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with fabricating large metal or structural parts.
- Comfort working with loud, large, and heat-generating machinery.
- Experience participating in process improvement or continuous improvement activities.
- Strong organizational skills for managing documentation such as part counts and labor cards.
