Immediate opening for a CNC Machinist in Vista, CA who possesses:
- 5+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC milling machinery
- Experience running CNC mills and/or lathes; mill experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays as required
- Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills
FULL DESCRIPTION:We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for interpreting blueprints, setting up work holding, operating CNC machinery, verifying dimensions and tolerances, documenting production activity, deburring completed parts, and maintaining safe and organized work areas. The ideal candidate will have extensive machining experience, strong CNC mill setup and operation skills, excellent blueprint comprehension, and the ability to accurately inspect work using precision measurement tools.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, including joints, material size and type, finishes, symbols, weld callouts, tolerances, and special requirements
- Setting up chucks, vises, fixtures, and other work holding devices on CNC machinery
- Setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Using CNC codes to operate machines
- Accurately documenting programming, setup, run time, and total production time on Travelers
- Utilizing designated backed-up folders for storing CNC program data
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, and verifying production information and data
- Maintaining awareness of squareness, perpendicularity, parallelism, flatness, and applicable tolerances when setting up parts and weldments
- Maintaining blueprint tolerances, typically within .010" to .030
