Overview
Immediate opening for a QC Technician‑Aerospace in Vista, CA. This role involves quality inspection of large aerospace parts using hand tools and GD&T techniques.
Responsibilities- Utilize ERP (enterprise resource planning) system and Wrike (project management tool).
- Maintain inspection documentation and ensure traceability of materials.
- Record and report inspection results accurately in Epicor.
- Accurately document and verify quantities of received items or backorders.
- Implement inspections and verifications on the mill/lathe using a machine probe system.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, granite surface plates, height gauge, tape measures, and bore gauges.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing department to resolve material quality issues.
- Use Faro arm and Leica laser tracker for inspections.
- Communicate with various departments regarding material received and utilize the interim MRP to update current information. Update Team Leads (typically Machining).
- Stamp, initial, and date each line item on the purchase order.
- 2+ years experience working with hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) on large aerospace parts.
- Exposure and experience working with GD&T.
- Experience in quality inspection within the aerospace industry.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Fundamental understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Accurate reading, writing, and counting for documentation.
- Ability to accurately use inspection devices and tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Capacity to carry out tasks efficiently and independently, even without constant supervision.
- Apply practical and logical reasoning to complete tasks successfully.
- Ability to understand, retain, and execute verbal and written directions and information.
- Open‑minded team player open to critique and motivated to grow within the job role.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period without distraction.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self‑driven and eager to close out tasks.
