Supervisor - Retail

Assists the management team in the daily operations of the store. Daily duties include some management functions, opening/closing the store, overseeing production/retail operations, ensuring staff follows all policies and procedures.

• Ensures excellent customer service is provided to customers and donors.
• Provides leadership, guidance, training and professional development in a positive environment to motivate staff and increase productivity.
• Engages the staff and creates a positive work environment where employment relationship matters are minimal.
• Assists in preparing performance evaluations, 5‑minute goal setting conversations and work schedules.
• Maintains store/department clean, safe, and organized with merchandise appropriately displayed.
• Documents and reports any concerns or issues promptly and timely to management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the implementation of organizational initiatives such as 4DX methodology.

• Education:
  
  High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Experience:
  
  One year of supervisory experience; retail experience preferred.
• Computer
  
  Skills:
  
  Basic computer skills;
  Email, internet use, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Certificates & Licenses: CA Driver’s License, driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance requirements, and an insured reliable vehicle preferred.
• Other Requirements:
  Ability to operate an electronic cash register; understand basic principles of running a retail store; stocking, merchandise flow, quotas, cash handling, bank deposit procedures, and sales reports; perform simple arithmetic; calculate figures and amounts related to cash handling; read and understand sales reports.
