SummaryThis position is responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of warehouse operations, inventory control processes, and logistics activities to ensure efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery of products. This role oversees all receiving, warehousing, inventory management, shipping, and transportation functions while ensuring compliance with GMP, GDP, OSHA, and company quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities- Direct and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, inventory transactions, staging, and shipping activities.
- Ensure proper organization, housekeeping, and utilization of warehouse space, including ambient, refrigerated, frozen, and controlled storage areas.
- Develop and implement warehouse processes that improve efficiency, safety, inventory control, and service levels.
- Monitor warehouse capacity and develop storage strategies to support business growth.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
- Maintain warehouse equipment and coordinate preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain inventory accuracy for raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), consumables, and finished goods.
- Oversee cycle count and physical inventory programs and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled within the SAP.
- Monitor inventory levels and provide recommendations to prevent shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
- Ensure FIFO/FEFO inventory practices are followed.
- Develop inventory metrics and performance dashboards to monitor inventory health and warehouse performance.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions related to inventory inaccuracies.
- Manage domestic and international shipping operations.
- Coordinate transportation providers, freight forwarders, couriers, and third-party logistics partners.
- Oversee shipment scheduling, routing, tracking, and carrier performance.
- Work with Global Supply Chain in regards to logistics strategies to improve service levels and reduce transportation cost
- Oversee material transactions, inventory transfers, receiving records, shipping transactions, and inventory adjustments.
- Ensure warehouse and logistics operations comply with applicable regulatory requirements including:
Regulatory and ISO requirements, GMP requirements, OSHA regulations, and Internal SOPs and Quality System Requirements. - Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Participate in deviation investigations, CAPAs, change controls, and risk assessments.
- Ensure appropriate temperature monitoring, material traceability, and inventory documentation are maintained.
- Directly supervise warehouse, shipping/receiving, logistics, and inventory control personnel.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability measures.
- Conduct hiring, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to support operational demands.
