Audit Supervisor – Public Sector

Job Summary: Lead audit engagements for government entities, including municipalities, school districts, and public authorities. Provide technical guidance, supervision, and client relationship management while ensuring compliance with GAAS, GASB, Yellow Book, and Single Audit requirements.

• Assist in planning, supervising, and executing audit engagements for government entities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable auditing standards (GAAS, GASB, Yellow Book, Single Audit).
• Review audit work papers, financial statements, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Serve as day-to-day client contact and maintain strong relationships.
• Monitor engagement timelines, budgets, and staffing for timely completion.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop Audit Associates and Senior Associates, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Identify and communicate audit findings, recommendations, and best practices to Managers, Partners, and clients.
• Stay current on governmental accounting and auditing standards and industry developments.
• Assist Managers and Partners with engagement management, resource planning, and client service initiatives.
• Participate in client meetings, proposal support, and other practice development activities as needed.

• Bachelor"s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
• 5-7 years of progressive audit experience in public accounting with governmental audit experience.
• Strong understanding of GASB standards, Yellow Book, and Single Audit requirements.
• Experience auditing municipalities, school districts, and authorities (e.g., housing, municipal utilities) preferred.
• Experience supervising engagement teams and reviewing audit work.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with audit and accounting software (e.g., Engagement, Caseware) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• CPA license or progress toward licensure preferred.
• Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
• Must be willing and able to travel locally to client locations as needed.

The base salary range for this position is $74,000 – $95,000 annual, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
