Instructional Associate QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma required.
REPORTS TOCertified Teacher and Principal.
JOB GOALTo assist teachers in creating a classroom and school environment in which all students are provided the necessary supports to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES- Assists individual children with special needs.
- Assists in the preparation of classroom activities.
- Implements behavior intervention plans.
- Administers, scores, and records assessments recommended by the certified teacher for individual students.
- Works with small groups of students to reinforce academic content taught by a teacher.
- Assists certified teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as classroom procedures, bulletin boards, attendance, copying, lunch supervision, playgroup supervision, and arrival and dismissal supervision.
- Records data to provide information regarding students’ I.E.P. goals.
- Assists substitutes assigned in the absence of the certified classroom teachers.
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
- Assists with school-sponsored activities.
- Demonstrates a positive enthusiastic demeanor when working with students, staff, and parents.
- Performs other functions according to the need of the school at the direction of a certified teacher or building administrator.
- Is punctual and maintains a good attendance record.
Ten-month year.
Salary: The salary for this position shall be set in accordance with the negotiated salary guidelines in the VTEA agreement, https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).-contracts

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with state and board regulations/policies by the building principal.
