About the Organization

Concord Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer for our Voorhees office to work in our Health Care, Science & Technology & Commercial MEP group. This group provides full-service MEP/FP engineering, energy consulting, design-build, construction management and commissioning services for industrial facilities and high-performance buildings for the commercial, healthcare, laboratory and institutional markets. We are a team comprised of engineers educated and practiced in energy conservation and project implementation with a proven track record for excellence in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, & fire protection engineering.

As a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer, you will take a key role in designing plumbing and fire protection systems for various clients within their design team. In some cases, you will be required to sign and seal drawings on projects where you are the Engineer of Record. You will coordinate with the design team and work with the client/PM/Project Engineer to execute project objectives in a timely and efficient manner.

The position can be based in Voorhees, NJ, NYC, Linwood, NJ, or remote/hybrid.

• Manage and direct the production of specific project staff focusing on team efficiency and project scope, detail, and budget.
• Perform design, layout, and checking of plumbing and fire protection systems drawings per client requirements and directed by the Chief Engineer/Director.
• Ensure technical correctness of drawings using applicable job, federal, state, and local standards and codes.
• Act as Engineer of Record, signing and sealing drawings for projects under your direction and supervision.
• Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget, and provide design reviews of engineering documents to meet QA/QC requirements per CEG methods and standards.
• Provide direction and perform periodic reviews of engineers’ work under your direction and Independent Design Review (IDR) of other engineers’ work not directly supervised.
• Provide overall engineering direction for your discipline on assigned projects.
• Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide field construction support as required.
• Monitor and assist in the training and development of subordinate engineers.
• Assist in proposal development, client management, and overall project execution.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience with proven progression in Plumbing and Fire Protection design, emphasizing sustainable/green building.
• Experience executing a design project with Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Knowledge of local, state, and national code requirements.
• Deep knowledge of Mechanical / HVAC / Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
• Strong working knowledge and utilization of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards (plus).
• Excellent time management and ability to meet frequent deadlines.
• Effective teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and strong technical writing and documentation skills with ability to prepare presentations and reports.
• Proficiency in English.

The salary range is $115,000 to $175,000, plus a sign‑on bonus and profit‑sharing bonus.
