Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer

Overview

Concord Engineering Group is seeking a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer I to work in our Voorhees office as part of our Health Care, Science & Technology & Commercial MEP group. The group provides full‑service MEP/FP engineering, energy consulting, design‑build, construction management and commissioning services for industrial facilities and high‑performance buildings in the commercial, healthcare, laboratory and institutional markets. Our team is comprised of engineers experienced in energy conservation and project implementation with a proven track record of excellence in mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering.

• Perform engineering calculations, prepare single‑line diagrams, size electrical components and equipment, conduct short‑circuit analysis, and design plumbing and fire protection systems per client requirements.
• Review projects regularly to ensure that department standards and client requirements are consistent with the project budget.
• Perform design, layout, and checking of drawings and verify technical correctness using applicable federal, state and local standards and codes.
• Conduct site surveys, attend pre‑bid meetings and provide field construction support as required.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Plumbing and Fire Protection design with an emphasis on sustainable/green building.
• Experience executing a design project with Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Engineer in Training who has taken the FE exam and is working toward professional licensure.
• Knowledge of local, state and national code requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (plus experience is a plus).
• Knowledge of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards (plus).
• Excellent time‑management skills, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.
• Effective at working with other staff members in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing and presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $120,000, with the actual salary based on experience.
