We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic care to residents. This role plays an essential part in helping patients regain mobility, improve functional independence, and enhance overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
- Instruct, motivate, and guide patients in therapeutic exercises and functional activities
- Monitor patient performance during treatments and report progress and concerns to the Physical Therapist
- Measure and document range of motion, girth measurements, vital signs, and treatment responses
- Fit, adjust, and educate patients on the use and care of orthopedic braces, prosthetics, and assistive devices (crutches, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, etc.)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and modify care plans
- Provide orientation to new Physical Therapy Assistants and direct Physical Therapy Aides as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Assist with department operations including inventory management, supply ordering, and general clerical tasks
- Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, and legal standards
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications Education- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred
- Current state Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
