Safeguard, patrol, and monitor buildings, grounds, and property for the purpose of protecting lives, property, prevent theft, fire, vandalism, and unauthorized entry while abiding by and enforcing Virtua policy and procedure. Assist visitors, patients, vendors, and staff providing excellent customer services, hospitality, and a positive experience. Conduct weapon screening at public entrances with approved technology. Provide accurate information, directions and respond to all emergency situations.

Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed. Monitor alarms and security cameras.

• Perform duties at assigned posts, including walking and mobile security, stationary posts, traffic control and special assignments.
• Monitor doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms.
• Use Health System technology for visitor control, data input/output, weapon screening with handheld wands, EVOLV weapon screening system, investigations, incident reports, shift logs, access control, infant protection and securing sensitive areas.
• Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with division team members, officer‑in‑charge (OIC), immediate supervisor, Nursing Supervisor, Health System security teams, and law enforcement agencies.
• Provide directions and escort visitors, vendors, patients, and staff as required to appropriate locations.
• Ensure staff wear s and visitors, vendors, contractors obtain proper , passes and badges. Fabricate s.
• Respond to maintenance issues and communicate with leadership to resolve them.
• Respond to emergency situations such as CODE Security and CODE RED alerts, serving as a 1st level operations responder and recognizing hazardous/chemical substance spills.

• 2 years of security experience preferred.
• Ability to stay levelheaded and respond quickly in stressful situations.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.

High School diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and meet insurance requirements.
• NJ Security Officers Registration Act (SORA) certification preferred.

Hourly Rate: $18.69 - $26.01 (varies based on experience and internal equity).
