Successful Sales Consultants are career-minded, organized, and hyper-focused with an extreme desire to succeed. They have the ability to integrate various technologies into their day-to-day activities in order to effectively manage complex projects throughout the construction process from presale to completion.
Approximately 70% of this role is focused on presale responsibilities - prospecting, lead generation, customer presentations, solution development, and guiding customers through the early stages of the buying process. The remaining 30% centers on postsale project management, ensuring a seamless customer experience by coordinating project details, communicating with internal teams, and supporting the build through to completion. The successful candidate must maintain a willingness to learn and adapt to the constant changes of the construction industry and the evolving needs of multiple markets. This territory will include the Greater Fort Wayne area and the areas of Frankfort, IN;
Muncie, IN;
Rochester, IN; and Auburn, IN.
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline to sell at or above established sales budgets.
- Prospect, generate leads, deliver customer presentations, develop solutions, and guide customers through the early buying process.
- Coordinate all individuals involved in building projects including Morton Buildings personnel, hire and manage subcontractors, and navigate permitting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from presale to completion.
- Maintain customer confidentiality and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, organization, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Reside within 30 miles of the assigned territory within 30 days of hire date.
- 2 years sales or account management experience preferred OR 5 years of construction management experience.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, construction, or project management preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to maintain an accurate sales pipeline within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Minimal overnight travel required beyond the initial training and onboarding period.
- Aptitude to grow existing market share and be readily available during construction-related work hours.
- Ability to develop and maintain an adequate sales funnel to sell at or above established sales budgets.
- Ability to maintain customer confidentiality.
