The Strategic Account Manager, Mining will be responsible to maintain and enhance the business partnership between Toromont CAT and one of our largest Mining customers by providing complete customer service solutions for Equipment, Product Support and Technology for multiple mine sites. Provide support to help maximize fleet health and assist with Continuous Improvement initiatives to help reduce the total cost of mining operations.

The listed target compensation includes commissions and other variable pay components and reflects expected annual earnings. It represents just one part of our total rewards package, and additional performance based bonuses or other elements may also apply.

Participate in safe and healthy work behaviors and practices at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Programs objectives and initiativesManage the assigned territory with new and existing mine sites to ensure Company goals and values are metDevelop and maintain customer relationships through regular on site visits (surface and UG)Manage relationships with the Service and Maintenance Managers to ensure annual parts and service budgets are aligned with customer's projected needsCreate and monitor sales objectives in collaboration with the Mining Team and Local Branch ManagerAssist Regional Branch with day to day site specific requests including asset management for services, CVA (Customer Value Agreements) contracts, parts planningProvide quotes for equipment, product support solutions, technology as requiredProvide warranty details and other product informationCoordinate quarterly mine site partnership meetings with Branch, mine management and procurement team accordinglyCo-operate with engineering firms on related mine expansion projectsAssist Mining Fleet Analysts with cost reduction projects and ensure the Product Support Team has the necessary resources to execute on the expected deliverables (CI initiatives, metrically driven)Develop strong relationships with supplier/manufacturer sales representatives to continually promote our product offeringEnsure that Caterpillar and Toromont CAT partnership agreements are executed in good faith by all organizationsAdhere to Company policy related to: call reports, lost sales reporting, product training, sales call planning, budgeting, and expense policyWe'd love to hear from you if you have:
Post-Secondary Education (mining, mechanical, geological engineering preferred) and 7 - 10 years' experience in the mining/mineral industrySolid knowledge of underground, surface mining equipment and operations processes (related WHMIS and Common Core training)Technical industry knowledge related to mining process or heavy mobile equipmentSafety conscious, customer-centric, flexible, diplomatic and collaborative with excellent presentation skillsInfluential leader with strong negotiation, superior interpersonal and communication skillsProven ability to develop and nurture trusted and long-term partnerships internally, externally and at all levels (mine operations to executive level)Analytical with enhanced listening and problem-solving skills, current on market conditions and business driversDeliver results in a fast-paced, demanding and deadline driven environmentMotivate others to adapt to changing priorities and environmentsSolid business and financial acumen with a sense of urgency and attention to detailComputer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Applications and other customer programsWilling and able to travel extensively throughout Canada and a valid Driver’s License and clean Driver's AbstractAbout Toromont Cat
