Tax Accountant

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Tax Accountant located in Woodway, TX. The Tax CPA will prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Daily responsibilities include performing tax research, analyzing financial data, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and advising clients on tax planning strategies. The role involves maintaining accurate work papers and documentation, responding to tax notices, and supporting clients during audits or inquiries.

The Tax Accountant will collaborate with colleagues, maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax law changes, and contribute to process improvements within the firm.

• 4+ years of experience in Accounting/Auditing
• Strong tax preparation and review skills for individual, corporate, partnership, and other entity returns, including year-end planning and compliance.
• Proficiency in tax research, analysis of complex tax issues, and application of current federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Solid accounting fundamentals, including general ledger, financial statement preparation, and workpaper documentation.
• Experience with tax and accounting software systems, as well as strong Excel and general computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction, documentation, and explanation of tax positions.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
• Active CPA license or eligibility as a Certified Public Accountant; bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Prior public accounting or tax-focused experience required; familiarity with small business and individual client needs is preferred.
