Position Summary:

Assist the Director of Institutional Giving with administrative and organizational tasks that support the full grant lifecycle. Help maintain grant files and databases, organize electronic records, prepare grant outlines and supporting documents, assist with data entry, research prospective funding opportunities, and track grant deadlines. Support the collection of program information, statistics, and outcomes for grant reports and proposals. Provide general office and administrative assistance.

MUST BE ELIGIBLE for FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. This is off-campus employment, must have transportation.

Functions of the Position:
Serve alongside the Director of Institutional Giving to support grant preparation, writing, reporting, and grant administration. Assist with maintaining grant calendars, organizing required documentation, preparing proposal materials, updating grant tracking systems, conducting foundation and corporate prospect research, coordinating internal information requests, and supporting compliance research with grant requirements. This includes communicating with MWMW program staff to gather information, outcomes, and supporting documentation for funding requests and reports.

Required Hard

Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe and Canva. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately enter and organize data. Excellent written communication skills. Research experience and familiarity with grant and/or proposal writing preferred.

Soft Skills:

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines, willingness to learn, professionalism, dependability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Learning Outcomes:
Develop an understanding of nonprofit grant writing and grants management. Gain experience researching funding opportunities, organizing grant documentation, and supporting proposal development. Learn best practices for grant compliance, reporting, and funder stewardship while building professional administrative and project management skills.

Hourly Rate: $11-$12.50/hour (depending on new/returning worker status and/or any special skill level)
