We are seeking an experienced Dirt Foreman to join our team in Waco, TX
.
The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day leadership for earthwork operations while helping ensure projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company and project requirements.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise crews performing excavation, grading, site preparation, road construction, utility installation, and other heavy civil construction activities.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and communicate project expectations with crew members and project leadership.
- Plan and schedule labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to support project timelines.
- Conduct daily job site inspections and complete required project documentation, including equipment reports and other field records.
- Monitor project progress and help identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and other departments to support successful project execution.
- Mentor, train, and develop crew members while promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Maintain accurate records for employee time, equipment usage, and daily production.
- Communicate project updates, operational concerns, and resource needs to project leadership.
- Support company safety programs and encourage safe work practices throughout the job site.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project operations.
- Previous experience as an Earthwork Foreman, Grading Foreman, Dirt Foreman, or in a similar leadership role within heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, site development, underground utilities, and roadway construction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and grade information.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across field and office teams.
- Experience completing daily field reports, production tracking, and project documentation.
- OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Three to five years of heavy civil construction experience, including experience leading field crews.
- Experience managing earthwork, grading, or site development projects is preferred.
