The Project Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Waco, TX, responsible for overseeing daily field operations on custom residential construction projects. This role coordinates subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with design specifications and quality standards. The Project Superintendent monitors construction progress, conducts site inspections, manages logistics, and communicates proactively with project managers, designers, and clients.
Daily tasks include enforcing safety protocols, tracking materials and equipment, resolving on-site issues, maintaining detailed project documentation, and supporting schedule adherence. The role is pivotal in ensuring that each home meets Vaughn Construction’s high standards of craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
- Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team coordination, subcontractor management, and clear on-site communication.
- Candidates should possess experience in Commercial Construction or residential construction, with the ability to interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Candidates should possess Quality Control capabilities, including hands-on inspection, adherence to craftsmanship standards, and consistent punch-list management.
- Candidates should possess cost control skills, including tracking materials, supporting change order management, and aligning field progress with financial targets.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include strong problem-solving abilities, scheduling and project management skills, proficiency with construction management software, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Relevant experience as a superintendent or foreperson on custom home or commercial projects is preferred; a background in construction management or a related field is helpful.
- Ability to work on-site daily in Waco, TX, maintain professionalism with clients and partners, and uphold Vaughn Construction’s core values in all project interactions.
