Job Description:

The Video Production assistant position will include responsibilities in broadcast production areas such as directing, producing, replay, graphics, and operating video cameras at live sporting events. Also, opportunities to shoot and edit video for social media platforms. Compensation is standardized and commensurate with responsibilities and performance.

Job Functions:

• Ability to handle 25-50 lbs. of equipment at a time

• Ability to use ENG style cameras for live event production

• Intermediate knowledge of control room equipment (Graphics, Switcher, Replay, Camera Shading, etc.)

• Willingness to help with setup and teardown of equipment before and after events

• Ability to efficiently use the Adobe Production Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.)

• Ability to operate DSLR cameras for photography and video

• Must be able to take direction and understand production workflow from start to finish (Initial Idea, Shooting, Logging, Editing, Exporting, etc.)

• Must be on time for all crew calls or when assigned to office hours

• Other duties as assigned that may or may not include travel

• Assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to marketing and communications

• Support marketing and communications strategies and perform duties accordingly

• Exhibit a willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively

• Ability to comply with University policies

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
