Job Description

The School of Music is looking for up to two graduate music performance students to support the development of our very important printed performance programs. Program layout and development are needed for all ensemble, faculty, guest and student recitals. These programs are developed within Adobe Express, printed through the Copy Center and some are posted online for livestream viewers, necessitating timely and flawless execution for the sake of our performers and audiences.

Familiarity with music performance, Adobe Express and adherence to our strict style guide are crucial.

Logistics
  • Adobe express templates and training will be provided. Program content must be produced on a tight timeline, with an overall two-week turnaround required for design, faculty review, printing, and delivery prior to each performance. To support this process, student employees are expected to complete program layouts within one week of receiving an assignment, allowing sufficient time for the remaining review and production stages.

While working hours are flexible, reliable and consistent availability throughout each week is essential. This is particularly important during peak recital and ensemble concert seasons, when the volume of program requests and production deadlines increase significantly.
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond timely to all assignment requests
  • Develop music performance programs using content, templates and instructions provided
  • Spend appropriate amount of time reviewing material to ensure accuracy and eliminating spelling/grammar/formatting errors
  • Collaborate with Marketing Team and Music Faculty on any content changes
  • Input regular status updates within shared program tracking spreadsheet
  • Store all final program files within shared Box folders
  • Communicate with Copy Center regarding program printing
  • Communicate with Music Operations regarding program pick-up and delivery
  • Exhibit a willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively
  • Must communicate early and often about any changes in availability and deadlines for content delivery
  • Ability to comply with University policies

Eligible applicants will be given an example program to develop on their own using provided templates and instructions.
