RBDR Architects is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm based in Waco, Texas, with a legacy dating back to the 1940s. The firm specializes in architecture, planning, and interior design, serving educational, commercial, civic, and religious clients throughout Texas. While their work is widely varied within the commercial realm, they maintain deep expertise across a broad range of project typologies and scales.

About the Role

RBDR Architects is seeking a creative and motivated Interior Designer with 0–2 years of professional experience to join our collaborative design team in Waco, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career designer looking to gain hands-on experience across a variety of project types while working alongside experienced architects and interior designers.

With a firm of approximately 15–18 people, there is always an opportunity to learn something new, contribute meaningfully, and grow professionally.

The ideal candidate is a team player who is passionate about thoughtful design, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to projects from concept through construction documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with interior design concepts, presentations, and material selections
  • Support project teams with space planning and furniture layouts
  • Create 3D models, renderings, finish palettes, and presentation materials
  • Produce drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and clients
  • Participate in site visits, client meetings, and project coordination
  • Help maintain project schedules and design standards
Qualifications
  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • 0–2 years of professional experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Sketch Up or Lumion is a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Passion for design excellence and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of construction documentation and detailing
  • Familiarity with FF&E selection and specification
  • Interest in commercial, educational, and civic interior environments
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles is a plus
