Position Summary
The Director of Campus Ministry requires a highly motivated individual with a mission‑oriented mentality and the ability to cultivate and build strong relationships. The Director must possess strong leadership and management skills, as well as meaningful experience, and work with student organizations—especially their leadership—to facilitate effective coordination of activities and events in alignment with the mission of SPCSC. The Director plays an integral role and maintains a strong presence in facilitating community life at SPCSC.

The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish of St. Peter Catholic Student Center, which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable collaborators—clerics, religious, or lay people—shares his mission with them, and entrusts various responsibilities. Positions employed at SPCSC help extend the Pastor’s ministry in the ways outlined in this description, closely connecting the employee to the Pastor’s ministry and thereby engaging in ministry for the Church.
Responsibilities- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of St. Peter Catholic Student Center in both professional and personal life.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Continuously grow in ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
- Serve as an effective, cooperative, and strong member of the SPCSC staff.
- Assist in scheduling, organizing, hosting, and advertising ministry activities—including retreats, service activities, mission trips, and educational/catechetical opportunities.
- Assist in recruiting and coordinating volunteers for the successful execution of the above activities.
- Assist the Rector in identifying pastoral needs and proposing creative ways to meet them.
- Assist in scheduling, organizing, hosting, and advertising speaker events.
- Assist in ordering and distributing printed literature—including pamphlets, books, and other resources.
- Maintain a healthy relationship with Baylor University administration, faculty, and staff; cooperate with Baylor University Campus Ministry to reach students through the university.
- Work and coordinate closely with FOCUS missionaries.
- Coordinate with the Development Office and Communications Coordinator to facilitate communication of activities and events to SPCSC supporters, parents, and benefactors via social media and newsletters.
- Maintain a healthy presence at student ministry activities.
- Foster relationships with the permanent parishioner community and parents.
- Collaborate with the Center Coordinator in planning and preparing center activities—including meals, socials, and banquets.
- Assist volunteer student leaders in their spiritual and human growth through mentorship.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Rector, including special projects to aid overall fundraising efforts.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the structure and basic teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Exceptional knowledge of Catholic Faith, Church Teaching, and Catholic Theology.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop rapport with diverse groups.
- Capacity to facilitate philosophical and theological inquiry and dialogue.
- Knowledge of social media tools.
- Ability to handle flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to multi‑task in high‑stress situations.
- Disposition as a servant leader.
- Action‑oriented work ethic and ability to foster teamwork.
- Strong attention to detail and critical analysis.
- Commitment to the mission and goals of SPCSC and ability to articulate its mission.
- Computer skills (Internet applications, Microsoft Office, word processing).
