Assist classroom teacher with instruction and supervision of students.
Responsibilities- Provide supervision in the classroom in the absence of the teacher, and orient substitute teachers when needed.
- Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, and provide approved behavior management and intervention, including restraints, as required.
- Assist the teacher in collecting and maintaining student data, administrative records, and preparing required reports; assist with assessment as assigned.
- Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
- Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, tutor students as assigned, and keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
- Educational Aide III Certification, or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days.
- Ability to work well with children.
- Ability to maintain data on students.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge of office equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Copy of high school diploma and official college transcripts from each college attended.
- All positions are security sensitive and require a background check.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- At least two years of experience working with special needs students.
$32,592+ per year, depending on qualifications.
Working ConditionsClassroom work within a residential treatment facility.

Retirement Plan EligibilityPosition must be at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
