Bilingual Teacher – Connally Independent School District
Job Title: Bilingual Teacher (Exempt/Professional).
Reports to: Principal.
Position Type: Full‑time.
Primary PurposeProvide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential and develop competencies to function successfully in society.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience.
- TX Educator Certificate in Bilingual or Bilingual Education Supplemental Spanish.
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district’s curriculum program requirements and show written evidence of preparation, including accommodations for individual student differences.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, equipment, and technology reflective of students’ learning styles and needs.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students per IEPs.
- Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers and oversee completion.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
- Serve as a positive role model and support the mission of the school district.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ physical, social, and emotional development.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
- Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file required reports, records, and documents.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Direct the work of assigned instructional aides.
Prolonged standing, frequent kneeling/squatting, bending, pushing/pulling, walking, light lifting (under 15 lb). Maintaining emotional control under stress with possible prolonged or irregular hours.
