Job Overview
Instructor at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) responsible for delivering approved curriculum, facilitating learning, and integrating technology to support students in an applied learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver high‑quality instruction and facilitate learning of students.
- Develop appropriate course syllabi and instructional plans; organize daily classes using various creative and innovative techniques.
- Interpret and administer assessments, provide constructive feedback, and support student growth and learning outcomes.
- Integrate technology effectively to enrich educational experiences.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure a safe instructional environment.
- Advisement and student retention, providing timely and accurate information; collaborate with Office of Student Success.
- Participate in program recruitment, tours, and promotional events.
- Demonstrate teamwork, service, and a willingness to support students, customers, and colleagues.
- Teaching & Learning – deliver high quality instruction, tailor methods to diverse learning styles.
- Mentorship & Coaching – provide personalized guidance and support.
- Assessment & Feedback – develop and use assessments to give constructive feedback.
- Technology Integration – effectively use technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Verifiable experience in instructional delivery within an applied learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet switching, IP routing, and firewalls.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems; virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, Virtual Box).
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, assessments, mitigation, penetration testing, social engineering, incident response, digital forensics, IPS/IDS.
- Active CompTIA certifications: A+, Network+, Linux+, Security+, CySA+, Pen Test+ (preferred).
- Active EC Council certifications:
Certified Ethical Hacker, Certified Network Defender (preferred). - Programming skills:
Python, Power Shell, BASH (preferred). - Ability to stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Target hiring range: $68,400.91 – $78,661.05 with up to $6,000 retention bonus annually. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. TSTC provides comprehensive health and retirement benefits, paid vacation, sick time, paid holidays, and state employee discounts.
