The Teacher provides high-quality instruction that supports students' academic growth, critical thinking, and engagement in learning. At CISD, this role ensures students receive rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for future academic and career opportunities. Teachers build positive classroom environments, monitor student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure every student receives the support needed to succeed.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution
- Valid Texas teaching certification required in the appropriate content or grade level area
- Strong knowledge of instructional best practices, curriculum standards, and classroom management strategies
- Ability to work effectively with diverse students, families, staff, and community partners
- Strong instructional, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to use student data and instructional technology tools to monitor progress and improve student learning
- Commitment to student growth, academic success, and equitable access to high-quality instruction
- Bilingual skills preferred
- Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
- Use assessment data to inform instruction.
- Design lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Deliver engaging instruction that promotes critical thinking and student participation.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to support student learning.
- Provide opportunities for student discussion, writing, and problem-solving.
- Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Provide timely feedback to students.
- Adjust instruction based on student performance data.
- Establish a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
- Implement classroom management strategies that support learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities.
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
- Tools/Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals. - Posture:
Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting. - Motion:
Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. - Lifting:
Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). - Environment:
Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours. - Attendance:
Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position. - Mental Demands:
Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.
