Adjunct Faculty are essential for curricular delivery in the Baylor Physician Assistant Program . Their contributions are most prominent during immersive learning experiences held on the Baylor campus in Waco, Texas , though instruction may also occur through synchronous or asynchronous teaching methods . A djunct Faculty bring essential knowledge, skills, and contemporary professional expertise that enrich students’ learning and development .
They demonstrate teaching proficiency and a commitment to student success by delivering assigned course content in a way that promotes meaningful learning and mastery of course material.
Primary Functions
Teaching is the primary responsibility of Adjunct Faculty member s . Responsibilities may include some or all of the following , based on the terms and conditions of their appointment:
- Deliver assigned courses and complete associated tasks in accordance with the Program’s approved course description(s) and competency-based student learning outcomes and instructional objectives .
- Meet deadlines and follow directions of the lead course instructor(s), p rogram and Department leadership, and the Dean or Associate Dean of the College.
- Demonstrate expertise in the discipline and apply effective instructional delivery methods .
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student participation and performance.
- U tilize appropriate methods to assess student performance in alignment with established learning outcomes , and p rovide timely , constructive feedback .
- Submit grades and other required documentation in a timely manner .
- Collaborate with the appropriate principal f aculty members , the Chair of Student Success and Progression , and the Program Director to identify and address student issues as appropriate .
- Collaborate with the appropriate prin ci pal f aculty members and the Program Director to support student progress and address academic or behavioral concerns .
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards of conduct in all instructional and professional interactions .
- Maintain current certification and state medical licensure .
- Promote professionalism by modeling and reinforcing professional standards/ behaviors in academic and clinical setting s .
- Assist with course - related activities and fulfill other duties as assigned by the lead course instructor(s) .
- Review and acknowledge receipt of the Post-Course Instructional Faculty Performance Evaluation within the time period designated by the Academic Program Manager.
Secondary Functions
These expectations do not apply to all adjunct faculty positions and will vary based on appointment terms :
- Plan and deliver course content through face
-to- face lab instruction , adhering to the syllabus , guidance from lead course instructor(s), Program leadership , and other University requirements. - Participate in course, curriculum, and program
-level assessment activities. - Attend and conduct all scheduled classes , including exams and any program-related assessments, in accordance with the academic calendar .
Compensation and Benefits
The budgeted compensation for this position is $75.00 per lab contact hour. This rate reflects a variety of considerations , including experience, educational background, professional skills, knowledge, and abilities, as well as licensure and certification s. Compensation decisions are also informed by internal equity reviews , market benchmarks, and broader organizational priorities and budgetary factors .

Minimum Qualifications :
- License:
Physician assistant with an active NCCPA certification and state license, physician with an active specialty board certification and state license, or nurse practitioner (or equivalent) with an active certification and state license, or other healthcare instructor with appropriate licensure and certification (if applicable) in instruction. - Education:
