Responsibilities
Instruct courses in philosophy as needed. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include face‑to‑face and non‑traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining office hours and working across departments to develop student communication, computation, and critical thinking skills. Employee may not exceed 19.5 hours per week.
This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be conducted on applicants being strongly considered.
Working ConditionsPhysical effort restricted; sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis. Work environment: minimal hazard/exposure; standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BenefitsPart‑time retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in philosophy.
Experience:
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
