ROLE AND PURPOSE:
The Coordinator of Instruction supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of high
- quality instructional systems across campuses. Reporting to the Senior Director of Instruction, this role leads key
district initiatives related to instructional resources, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), student engagement
strategies, daily intervention and extension (DOL), summer learning, student learning experiences, and library media
services. This role collaborates with campus and district leaders to ensure instructional practices are aligned to state
standards and district priorities, strengthen instructional quality, and promote equitable access to rigorous and
engaging learning experiences for all students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Mathematics, Science, or
related field preferred.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred.
• Valid Texas administrator certification preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in instructional coaching, curriculum development, or campus- or
district-level leadership preferred.
• Experience supporting PLCs, instructional systems, or student engagement initiatives preferred.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing inclusive instructional
strategies preferred.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with campus leaders, teachers, and
district staff.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• Strong knowledge of state standards (e.g., TEKS) and instructional best practices across grade levels and
content areas.
• Understanding of curriculum development, alignment, and implementation processes.
• Knowledge of effective student engagement strategies and instructional practices that promote active
learning.
• Experience with Professional Learning Community (PLC) frameworks and collaborative planning
structures.
• Knowledge of intervention and extension systems, including differentiation and tiered supports.
• Understanding of instructional resource selection, implementation, and management.
• Familiarity with library media programs and their role in supporting literacy, research, and student
learning experiences.
• Knowledge of data-driven instruction and continuous improvement cycles.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to analyze student performance data and translate findings into actionable instructional
recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to facilitate professional learning.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with campus administrators, teachers, librarians, and district staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and instructional technology tools.

• Monitor implementation and provide feedback to improve consistency and effectiveness.
II. PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES (PLCS)
• Develop and support district wide PLC frameworks and expectations.
• Provide guidance and tools for effective collaborative planning, data analysis, and instructional
decision-making.
