Job Overview
Instructor position at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) to deliver approved curriculum, facilitate discussion, student mentorship, assessment, and technology integration in an applied learning environment.
Location:
On‑campus. Hiring for Fall 2026.
Hours:
Monday/Wednesday 8:30AM‑5:00PM and/or Tuesday/Thursday 8:30AM‑12:30PM.
- Deliver high-quality instruction, develop syllabi and instructional plans, and facilitate learning using creative techniques.
- Conduct assessments, provide constructive feedback, and support student growth and learning outcomes.
- Integrate technology to enrich educational experiences.
- Engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure safety, equipment security, and evaluation opportunities.
- Provide student advisement and collaborate with Student Success for tutoring and retention programs.
- Participate in recruitment events, department planning, and program promotion.
- Demonstrate TSTC Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with all stakeholders.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to meet with students and facilitate learning.
- Proficiency with collaborative software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom).
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and online instruction pedagogy.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Team‑orientated, punctual, and reliable.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with online instruction and competency‑based education.
- Experience with non‑traditional face‑to‑face teaching methods.
- Experience using Canvas LMS, Simple Syllabus, and Workday.
- Adaptability to new teaching and learning styles.
- At least three years of teaching in the discipline.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the teaching assignment for developmental programs; or graduate training.
- Exceptional professional experience or credentials may be considered.
