Developmental Math, Instructor - Adjunct; On-Campus

Job Overview

Instructor position at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) to deliver approved curriculum, facilitate discussion, student mentorship, assessment, and technology integration in an applied learning environment.

Location:

On‑campus. Hiring for Fall 2026.

Hours:

Monday/Wednesday 8:30AM‑5:00PM and/or Tuesday/Thursday 8:30AM‑12:30PM.

• Deliver high-quality instruction, develop syllabi and instructional plans, and facilitate learning using creative techniques.
• Conduct assessments, provide constructive feedback, and support student growth and learning outcomes.
• Integrate technology to enrich educational experiences.
• Engage a range of learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship.
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure safety, equipment security, and evaluation opportunities.
• Provide student advisement and collaborate with Student Success for tutoring and retention programs.
• Participate in recruitment events, department planning, and program promotion.
• Demonstrate TSTC Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with all stakeholders.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to meet with students and facilitate learning.
• Proficiency with collaborative software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom).
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and online instruction pedagogy.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Team‑orientated, punctual, and reliable.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with online instruction and competency‑based education.
• Experience with non‑traditional face‑to‑face teaching methods.
• Experience using Canvas LMS, Simple Syllabus, and Workday.
• Adaptability to new teaching and learning styles.
• At least three years of teaching in the discipline.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the teaching assignment for developmental programs; or graduate training.
• Exceptional professional experience or credentials may be considered.
