Provide assistance to the participating students in the Upward Bound Program, as appropriate, in the area of Math. This is a temporary, part-time position, filled on an as-needed basis. Employee may not exceed 19.5 hours per week.
NOTE:
This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
Restricted-Sustained posture, for prolonged periods; light lifting, some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
SELECTION CRITERIA- Ability to create detailed lesson plans
- Ability to conduct classroom instruction/activities in accordance with the overall design of Upward Bound objectives and required services
- Ability to evaluate student progress
- Ability to work with full-time staff in implementing individualized educational work plan for each student
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Experience:
One year of teaching experience with at-risk students.
Education:
Secondary teaching certification in subject area.
