POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED

FALL 2026

Teach didactic courses and coordinate clinical education within the Associate of Applied Science Health Information Technology (HIT )program, including planning, supervising, and evaluating student clinical experiences at affiliated healthcare facilities while providing instruction in health information management, coding, and related coursework. Additional responsibilities include maintaining office hours, traveling to clinical sites to support student learning and healthcare partnerships, serving on college committees, participating in professional development and faculty evaluations, promoting the department and its mission, supporting student success, and contributing to college and community activities.

Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned, which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual-credit, blended, and/or online courses. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include face-to-face and non-traditional modalities or time frames, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses. This position exercises no supervision.

NOTE:

SELECTION CRITERIA

Knowledge of:
1. Health information technology, health information management, medical coding, healthcare data, privacy, security, and applicable regulations;
2. Current trends, technologies, and best practices in health information technology and higher education;
3. Effective teaching, curriculum development, student assessment, and instructional methods;
4. Professional development and continuous improvement practices; 6. ADA standards as they apply to instruction;
7. Competency based education Skills in:
8. Teaching in face-to-face, online, hybrid, and technology-supported learning environments;
9. Using instructional technology and learning management systems to support student learning; 10. Assessing student learning and providing timely, constructive feedback; 11. Recruiting, advising, mentoring, and supporting students; 12. Communicating effectively and building collaborative working relationships; 13. Planning, organizing, and managing multiple responsibilities;
Ability to:
14. Stay current with developments in health information technology and incorporate them into instruction; 15. Develop and revise curriculum to meet program, workforce, and accreditation standards; 16. Foster an inclusive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment; 17. Represent and promote the program through college, professional, and community activities; 18. Contribute to program assessment, accreditation, budgeting, and continuous improvement; 19. Provide caring, high-quality service by creating welcoming experiences, communicating clearly and proactively, addressing needs with professionalism and empathy, and ensuring individuals are thoughtfully connected to appropriate resources;

20. Move into department leadership role.
