Will instruct college-level courses in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned, which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual-credit, blended, and/or online courses. Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include face-to-face and non-traditional modalities or time frames, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, blended, and/or online courses.
This position exercises no supervision.
Employee may not exceed 19.5 hours per week.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONSPhysical effort-restricted: sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing and pulling on a regular basis. Work environment: minimal hazard/exposure: standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS- Part-Time Retirement.
- Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
Education: Master’s degree in Child and Family Studies, Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college or university. Must have 18 graduate hours in Early Childhood Education/Child Development.
Experience: At least three years of full-time teaching experience within the early education environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience: At least one year of full-time experience teaching adult learners in a collegiate or professional setting. Recent teaching experience at the community college level.
