Baylor University is seeking an Associate Director of Resource Strategy and Development. The primary purpose of this position is to support and implement the strategy, development, and quality of resources for the Belonging Hub, the online home for The Whole Body Project's tools, training, and learning pathways. This person will help design a coherent resource ecosystem and help create resources that equip congregations to take faithful next steps toward belonging.
The position will translate research, theology, and best practices into accessible and practical resources related to disability, mental health, and Christian community.
A bachelor's degree and three years of relevant work experience are required. A master's degreeand seven years of relevant work experience are preferred. Additional education or experience will be considered in lieu of one another.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
About the ProjectBaylor University is leading The Whole Body Project, a new Storytelling Initiative funded by Lilly Endowment Inc. A five-year project will showcase transformative stories of vibrant faith and mutual flourishing in Christian congregations when those with and without disabilities or mental health challenges move from exclusion and isolation to mutual belonging by worshipping, learning, serving, leading, and living life together. Through a first-of-its-kind national impact campaign-rooted in research, supported by deep partnerships, and sustained through practical resource pathways-this unique initiative seeks to inspire and equip tens of thousands of church leaders, members, and families to reimagine and pursue faithful life together.
This project is a collaborative effort across five Baylor centers and departments, bringing together partners throughout the university and across the nation. It is led by Co-Principal Investigators Erik Carter, Dustin Benac, and Jason Le Shana. Collaborating centers include the Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing, the Future Communities Lab, the Center for Church and Community Impact, the Dunn Center for Christian Music Studies, and the Institute for Faith and Learning.

- Write, develop, and revise high-quality resources that help churches take practical next steps toward inclusion and belonging (this includes foundational resources on disability, mental health, theology of belonging, congregational life, and Christian practice)
- Contribute to a portfolio of resources such as ministry guides, reflection tools, checklists, facilitator guides, sermon and small-group tools, training materials, and practical frameworks for congregational change
- Ensure resources are clear, accessible, theologically grounded, and useful for pastors, ministry leaders, families, and congregations
- Guide the creation of the overall resource roadmap for the Belonging Hub
- Translate the project's audience journey into a coherent ecosystem of tools, training, and learning pathways
- Design keystone pathways for individuals, families, churches, and ministry leaders
- Determine resource priorities, sequencing, formats, and intended outcomes so that Hub users can move from initial interest to sustained action in their congregations
