Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of aircraft systems test engineering experience; OR an Associate degree with at least 8 years of aircraft systems test engineering experience; OR a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of aircraft systems test engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Willing and able to travel as required.
  • Able to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.
  • Must be able to obtain an FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate and be willing to fly on test platforms.
  • Capable of checking, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure they meet specifications, including performing wiring repair, removal, and reinstallation—sometimes in confined spaces.
  • Must participate in ingress/egress evaluations to confirm compatibility with aircraft emergency evacuation requirements.
  • Strong understanding of basic electrical theory and experience using electronic test equipment such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power meters, and network analyzers for testing RF systems and mixed‑signal products.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience working on G550 or C130 aircrafts.
Job Description

An employer in Waco, TX is looking for multiple Systems Test Engineers to join their team. The Systems Test Engineer will be responsible for executing systems engineering test tasks associated with aircraft modernization, maintenance, and the integration and testing of new aircraft systems. This role includes developing and applying software quality methods, improving software quality assurance processes, and supporting the integration of avionics, communications, and mission systems across multiple platforms.

The engineer will author test procedures and conduct System Operation and Verification Tests (SOVT) for avionics, communications, cockpit systems, special mission systems, and navigation equipment. The position requires proficiency with both common and advanced electronic test equipment and related software, as well as the ability to read and interpret block diagrams, wiring diagrams, and circuit schematics to identify component malfunctions.

The engineer may support future military avionics development and integration efforts and will be expected to interface effectively with customers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders while upholding high ethical standards. A strong understanding of basic electrical theory and hands-on experience with equipment such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, RF power meters, and network analyzers is essential. Travel may be required up to 50%, primarily within the United States but occasionally to OCONUS locations.
